A mountain climber was once interviewed. He was asked a question, "knowing there is so much danger reaching the peak of a mountain; why would you risk your life to get to the top?" I personally, a rare fan of either rock or mountain climbing, found his reply weightier than mere words. He said, "I do it because it is possible, afterall life itself is a risk". Reality is, it's risky. Reality is, many have died trying to reach the top of a mountain. Reality is, many do not make it to the top. Reality is, it is not easy. However, it is possible. The motivation behind this post's Shelley Wake's quote...
“If you want to achieve the most you can, take your eyes off reality & take a peak at possibility”
Often times in life, reality scares the courage out many of us. We look around us and fail to look within. We concentrate not on what we can achieve but the difficulties we would have to go through. According to Mohandas Gandhi, “strength does not come from physical capacity but from indomitable will” The indomitable will that magnifies opportunities in the face of challenges. The indomitable will that chooses to see light at the end of the tunnel. Reality is, it is difficult. Reality is, not many people make it to the end. Reality is, it is tough. Reality is, it may require more than just one attempt. Reality is, you may fail many time before getting to the finish line. However, possibility can fuel your will to make it through.
The joker here is 'choice'. You can choose which side you want: Reality or Possibility? No one can make the choice for you. Life's greatest achievers were those who chose to see and not look; who chose not to look around but see beyond. In the words of Myles Munroe, "eyes that see are rare; eyes that look are common". What is your situation my friend? What is your dream? What are you looking at achieving? Are things tough? See beyond. Take a peak at possibility. Take your eyes of reality. Act as if they do not exist and keep moving. I'd round off with Joyce Meyer's sweet words, "keep on keeping on!"

ReplyDeleteThis was an amazing post. The work you do here with your blog is truly inspiring... I particularly liked the post about pity as well. We don't realise we are making ourselves into victims until we see it from an objective perspective. Keep up the good work. :)

My reality is tough right now - but my HOPE of victory keeps me pressng on. I serve a risen Lord that specilizes i high walls and prison doors. There's nothing He can't get me through. Knowing this TRUTH - keeps me going.

Hi Patrina, I love this part of ur comment; "My reality is tough right now - but my HOPE of victory keeps me pressng on." Wow, yes, our hope is in the hope of the nations - Jesus Christ. In him we live, move and have our being. Halleluyah!
ReplyDeleteWhat a timely post! Of course, the choice should always be possibility simply because it is never-ending. God bless you and continue to give you wisdom.
